How do you remove roof racks?

I have a 2002 Pt Cruiser, and i would like to remove the roof rack before i repaint my car. What do i need in order to do this?

1. I haven't seen the exact setup on a PT Cruiser, but I'm guessing that there should be some screws or bolts at the ends of it attaching it to the car. If you don't see any exposed screws or bolts, look for some tiny panels that can usually be popped off with a flathead screwdriver and the bolts should be under there. The panels will be the same color as the rack and are usually just big enough to cover the bolt/screw and allow a tool to remove them. Shouldn't be too big of a job, just depends on how they've got it bolted on there. Hope this helps!
