Can you remove a factory Vehicle Roof Rack?

I have a roof rack that came with my Nissan Murano. Do you think I can safely remove this, w/o it causing any water damage when it rains to my vehicle. I think the it would look better without the rack!

1. absolutely but you'll need tools, I've done it and if I remember correctly you'll need a torx bit and you may wanna use liquid wrench (helps to loosen bolts)
2. Yes you can do it. Ed B gave you the right info. You might want to check with a Nissan dealer if the Murano models that don't come with a roof rack have plugs or a sealing strip that cover the place's where the bolts go
