Car Luggage Carriers

What would be a good roof rack for a 2001 Ford Ranger (Reg. size) with a cap?

My husbands birthday is coming up and I know that he has been wanting a Roof rack for his truck (2001 Ford Ranger) for sometime now (for canoes, kayaks etc.) He has a cap on the back which usually stays on so I think he would want one for on top of it. I know nothing about vehicles. Any suggestions on what type of roof rack or a specfic one I should get would be helpful! Thanks!
