travelling overseas with one year old questions?
hubby & i are planning an overseas trip when our baby turns one next year, the trip is over 24 hours long with two stop overs (airport only) in dubai & london. we don't own a stroller, baby carrier or car seat though we have a front sling. hubby thinks we will be fine with the sling and don't need to get a stroller which is just extra luggage for him. ur ideas?? also, we are destined for toronto where i know children need to sit in a car seat when travelling in a car. how strict is this rule travelling from airport to place of residence? can we buy / rent a car seat at the toronto airport? how much would it cost? does a one year old sit on ur laps on the plane or a seat of his own or ????? after months of convincing hubby to take us on this trip, i am having second thoughts now that he is actually doing the bookings so any advice u may have, i would appreciate!

- PLEASE get your baby a car seat! Even if it's not the law where you live, it doesn't mean riding without a car seat is safe. Yes, the law is strictly enforced in Toronto; your excuse that you're just traveling a short distance won't fly if you get pulled over. The real matter here, though, is your child's safety. Yes, your child can sit on your lap on the plane, but do you really want to travel that long with her on your lap? Think about how uncomfortable she will be. I suggest getting the baby her own seat, and put her in a car seat. Who cares if it's extra luggage for your husband? Would you really put your convenience before your baby's safety? I sincerely hope not.
- No matter what check with Dr. and get shots before entering other states with a 1 year old baby to protect babies health also yourself get shots.
