Will a Sears x cargo 20 car carrier fit on a vehicle with no crossbars on the roof? It is a 2005 Freestyle?

- Call Sears and ask.
- No... the 20 cubic foot carrier uses u-bolts to secure it to the crossrails. If the Freestyle has rails that go the length of the vehicle on the roof, Sears sells crossrails that will make this possible for most vehicles. The only other options are to have factory rails installed or to try and rig something yourself. I would advise against the latter, as there is a lot of force on the carrier when driving. Also, the older 16 cubic foot models will not work because they use straps that hook into the weatherstripping in the door jambs. Your sliding side doors make that impossible. One other thing to consider may be a "soft" carrier like the ones made by Thule. I believe some of these don't always require crossrails. Good Luck.
