Can anyone suggest a car top carrier for a 2008 Honda Civic 4 door? Planning for vacation this summer, and just got a 2008 Honda Civic. Doesn't have a roof rack. Was hoping people could suggest cartop carriers that don't require roof racks that they have used with Civics in the past, especially newer models. Roof top carrier for Car - Problem? I bought a roof top carrier for my car about 5 years ago (2000 Chevy Cavalier). I now have a new car (2005 Nissan Altima) and the clips from the mounting system for the carrier, will not fit on my new car. I do not have roof racks. Looking for roof top storage for car? In a couple of days, I will be moving to Florida. I am looking for some sort of roof top carrier that I can attach to my car. I don't have a car rack so I need one that can be attached without a rack. I've found several online but I don't have time to wait for it to be delivered. I need to find one at a local store and hopefully for a reasonable price. I don't care if it's a great quality. I just need it for this one trip. Therefore, I don't want to spent hundreds on one. I found several that cost about $200-$500 but that's too much. Others that I've found either must be attached to a car rack (which I don't have) or are only found online. Question about using an infant carrier vs. car seat inside/on top of a stroller.? There are some people who are against buying a double stroller for a newborn and 2 year old because they say to just use a single stroller for the toddler and an infant chest carrier instead of relying on pulling the car seat in and out. I'm all for carrier usage too, but what if the newborn is sleeping when you arrive to your destination and you don't want to disturb him by picking him up out of the carseat and into your chest carrier? Isn't it convenient to remove car seat and place it on top of the stroller instead? What do you think?

What is a euro lock? We have a small yakima car top carrier that has a lock on it, and the key that goes to the lock on the yakima says euro lock on it. I have heard the name euro lock before but never knew what it meant or what it was. The key itself, and the lock mechanism looks like a double bitted wafer lock. So I didn't know if euro lock was another name for a wafer lock or was a special type of lock.

Why are types of car so called? These days on top of the estate and saloon cars, we have SUV's, MPV's and strangest of all 'people carriers'. I ask the question because, for example, an SUV stands for 'sports utility vehicle', usually refferring to a 4X4. Now does that mean the activity the car is used for is the sport, as in off roading, or that the car is used to carry equipment for a sport, such as a surfboard? As according to most people on here 4X4's should only be used by farmers, where does the sport come in? Then MPV's, or 'multi purpose vehicles'. These I think are the Espace or Galaxy type car. Apart from being acar what other purpose are they used for? I suppose with the seats out they become a van, not really multi purpose though. Then daftest of all, a 'people carrier', again used for the larger cars. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the purpose of ANY car to carry people? All cars are people carriers. There, I feel better now, these are my opinions and are therefore correct. I KNOW people carriers usually have 7 or 8 seats, but they still carry people, as do cars which have 2, 4 or 5 seats, so why are smaller cars not called people carriers?

Vacuum Sealer, bags, homemade? My bf and I are moving across the country (2,600miles) and we are only taking one car and a top carrier for it. I would like to vacuum seal all of our clothes, blankets, towels, etc. Is there a good way to make my own vacuum seal bags, maybe out of big garbage bags? 5 month old fell out of shopping cart. Help? Yesterday, my son fell out of a shopping cart at Kroger's. He was strapped in but in his infant carrier car seat on top of the cart, as my 2 year old was sitting in the large part with the groceries. He landed face down, car seat and all so I rushed him to the ER. They said he was fine but to watch for signs of a concussion. I don't know if he has any of them because he is so little . Here is what they told me to watch for: Confusion (hard to tell in a 5 month old baby!) Slurred speech (Since he isn't talking, this doesn't help) Headaches (How do I know if he has one?) Clear/bloody discharge from nose or ears (he's had a cold recently so of course, he has a runny nose. Or is it something else?) I know in my head he's fine. He's acting normal but I am beside myself 24 hours after the fact. I can't eat or sleep. I have chewed off all my nails and I have barely stopped thinking about what I should have done to stop it. I know I am overreacting but I just can't get over this. Am I a bad mother? Is my baby fine? How do I get this event to stop driving me crazy? I was so distraught at work today I was sent home!

Rear facing car seat question? My son is 6 months old and he is in the 97th percentile in all his growth areas. He is just quite frankly a big kid. My question is he is getting to be too long for his carseat to be rear facing, would it be ok to turn his seat around? His legs are getting to be too long and he is having to bend his little legs while in his car seat. He has already out grown his infant carrier (his head was over the top of the back of the seat) I am going to discuss this with his dr on thursday when he goes for his 6 month check up but I was curious if any other mother's out there have experienced the same thing, if you have how did you handle the problem? He is over 20 lbs and last check was almost 28 inches long. this was about a month ago. the car seat that I have is a convertible one and is suitable for a child up to 100 lbs. short of buying a bigger car there is no way a bigger seat is going to fit in my car

More emergency flashers to my car? So I would like to add more emergency lights to my car. The kind if you are stopped on the side of the road and need to let motorist know not to hit you, instead of using just the stock flasher. I'm looking to add yellow strobes or white strobes to the corners of my front windshield and the corners of my back windshield at the top. This is not for illegal use. I don't want to pretend I am law enforcement or anything. I know that there are times where i would like a little more visibility on the side of a highway in a snow storm or downpour. I have a 97' Ford Explorer and I live in Massachusetts. If you are knowledgeable of the law here or are a police or state trooper that would help if you could drop me a line.
